ADVANCED MERMAID (CONTINUING EDUCATION)

ADVANCED MERMAID (CONTINUING EDUCATION)

Are you ready to take your mermaiding experience to the next level? Look no further than the PADI Advanced Mermaidâ„¢ course, designed to refine and improve your mermaid diving skills in open water. This course builds on your PADI Mermaidâ„¢ certification, helping you to understand the differences between the pool and the natural environment, and introducing you to open water mermaiding techniques. With a focus on safety and respect for aquatic life, you'll learn how to avoid harm while exploring the underwater world.

To enroll in the PADI Advanced Mermaid course, you must be 12 years old or older (parental permission and presence at all times is mandatory for anyone under 18 years old) and have a PADI Mermaid certification (or a qualifying certification from another mermaid organization). You should be able to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids, float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 mins, and be in good physical health.

The course consists of three main phases, including knowledge development through independent study, confined water sessions where you'll learn essential mermaid skills and rescue/problem management, and open water sessions in a natural local body of water, or purpose-built site suited for mermaid diving. You'll practice environmentally friendly techniques and refine your open water mermaid diving skills.

Using gear designed specifically for mermaiding is best for this level, including a monofin (i.e. mermaid tail), mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit/weight belt if needed. Your PADI Mermaid Center can provide advice on the gear you'll use, as well as other course details.

Elevate your mermaiding experience today and discover the beauty of the underwater world with love and respect. And who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to become a PADI Freediverâ„¢ or PADI SCUBA Diver next!
